Friday.... already....

Hi there,

This week has gone by so fast that my head is spinning...
I've been so busy with helping my daughter with wedding plans that I forgot to find something for the Friday Weekend warriors.

I did get 2 of the patterns I sent out to testers back already and I'll let you all see these great photos.

With the Elefriends pattern I wanted to see if the software could handle a large sized pattern. I'm relatively happy but there were 2 pieces of the pattern where it needed to be joined that were incorrect numbering. The software does this for me so I don't have a clue if its correct or not, and luckily the tester was really fast and showed me all the problems right away so that I could fix a few things.
The pattern measures 60x72" (153x184cm) and is acutally on the Easy Intermediate level. Its just the size of each pattern piece that needs pins to secure and hold the fabrics in place.
Im thinking of making a smaller size on this one too....
This cutie was sewn up for me by Melissa Wright. Its so adorable. Thank you!!

This is the Young Giraffe pattern (40x52" - 102x134cm) and is also on the Easy Intermediate level.
I also had to fix a 'glue edge' numbering on this one which makes me so 'crazy' because until the pattern is made, I have no way of knowing. Thank heavens the tester let me know so that it could all be changed and made lovely...
This amazing Giraffe was sewn up by K Johnson. Totally awesome! Thank you!!

Here are some of the close ups of the Elefriends...

And even a look at the back...
So neat, its just as wow...

I'll be adding these 2 in these sizes to Craftsy...

Have a great week-end.
My hubby will be back from his business trip too, so I'm going to put my feet up and have a rest...

I've started a QA Designs Group  on Facebook where you are welcome to join and add any of your finished blocks made with the QADesigns patterns.

Fox in the Garden #2

Hello there everyone...

Wow, this past weekend was so hectic. My daughter and I went to a Bridal Expo here in Pretoria.
My daughter (Heather) is getting married in September and we're busy with all the planning etc. Sooooooooo many things to do....
Yesterday we also went to try on wedding dresses.... that was just great fun!! Thank heavens you make an appointment and then you're the only one there and get all their attention.

Today we're on the Second part of the Fox in the Garden...
The pattern measures 16x24" (42x62cm) and is on the Intermediate level.

It's divided up into 3 main chunks but on each of them I'm doing about half each week.

The first part is the house - maybe its the neighbours house... and again the trees and background.

This was the finished block of Fox #1. He's really very cute!

I hope those of you joining me with this slow quilt a long are enjoying it...

Project #3 Show and Tell

Hello week-end!!

Today we're showing the cute little Bookshelf pattern we had from
last week...

It was really easy and quick to put together.
The pattern without the border was 14" and then with the borders
made it into 18".

I used up a few selvedge edges I had on the spines of the books.

This is the finished top of the Bookshelf...

I was going to make a pillow with it but then I changed my mind and made a mini quilt instead.

The back was something I found in my fabric boxes. It had no edge with a name, so Im not sure where it comes from. Its bright and beautiful so no explanation needed...
I can always use it the other way around under a cute vase of flowers...
Hmmm, now to get hubby to buy me said flowers....

Today is also Chinese New Year, and it will be the Year of the Dog, so....
I made a dog pattern for my shop...

It's a French Bull Dog puppy and measures 14" (36cm). Its available in my Craftsy Shop.

Have a wonderful Week-end!!
My daughter and I are going to a Bridal Expo - so very excited....

Fox in the Garden

Hi there,

What a couple of days!!
My new office/sewing room/ general computer central is finished!! Nothing spectacular, but the fact that it actually has a new ceiling and been repainted is already a big thing... Oh and I got a new light that actually works properly.... The old one was a stupid spotlight that could be moved if you climbed up onto the desk and wanted to burn your fingers.... and the new one is a long double tube light that shines bright, bright, bright.... loving it!
Yesterday we carried everything back in here and then the fun of connecting all the computers started...

Today....
I've finished the Fox in the Garden #1 and I'm going to print out the Fox #2 this morning and look for great scraps that can do the job...

I saw a finished Fox in the Garden #1 on the new Facebook group I started. It was amazing. I love the colour fabrics that was used.

I've started a QA Designs Group  on Facebook where you are welcome to join and add any of your finished blocks made with the QADesigns patterns.

Today is also Valentine's so I have a little something for all of you...

Miracles....

Hello there everyone...

Today we have a miracle taking place here in Pretoria....

As you can remember our ceiling in my sewing room turned sour on us and after making a bulge a huge piece fell down and since then I've been working in my husband's office and running back and forth to try and sew something.
Anyhoo, forward 3 months and they've arrived today to fix everything.... Yaay! AT LAST!!

We spent the whole weekend cleaning everything out of there and putting it in the dining room and now that looks like we're hoarders.... I can only hope they don't take forever...

The past while, I've been wanting to make patterns for larger quilts, so these cuties have been going out to testers to see if the software can handle it at a much larger size.

The young Giraffe measures 40x52" (1m,16cm)
Easy Intermediate level

Still looking for help...

This is Elefriends....

It measures 60x72" (1m,52cmx1m84cm)
Intermediate level

Have enough on this one Thanks...

I've started a QA Designs Group  on Facebook where you are welcome to join and add any of your finished blocks made with the QADesigns patterns.

Week-end Project #3

Hello everyone..

Today I'm going on with the
Week-end Warriors Project #3

As you know, this need to be something that can be done quickly and maybe in an evening or even just in one day.

For this week-end, I'm making a cute 'Bookcase' block.
This cute mini will be hanging on the wall.

It measures 14" (36cm) on its own and then with a border it will be 18" (47cm).

It's really very straight forward and with this one, you can use up a few Selvage Edges you have lying about to look like writing on the book spines.

You can get your FREE download pattern HERE...<<<<

I hope you enjoy the block.

Have a great Week-end!!

Fox in the Garden #6

Fox in the Garden time again....
and this time I've finished up the cutest part - the Fox himself.

I somehow forgot to take a photo of the layout of pattern pieces but not to worry, you all understand that part already...

I've finished up with this cute boy and then sewed it to the Part 5 from last week. They're still missing a piece on the bottom so I can't sew it to the house yet.

I did remove all the paper from that first 'house' part already.

And this is where we are at the moment. I've only got the tiny-est part to finish up with the trees and the snow in the foreground and sew it up and there you have it....

I will add the Fox in the Garden #2 pattern to the shop for those who want to carry on with the QaL.

I hope those of you joining me with this slow quilt a long are enjoying it...
